For some time now, the KSOH Board has dreamed and prayed about creating an endowment to sustain the Ewuaso Osiligi Center in Kenya well into the future. In August 2024, this dream became a reality with the establishment of the Kenyan Schools of Hope Endowment Fund (Endowment). We praise and thank God for His continued blessing and provision for this ministry!

The Endowment will provide for the long-term education, health, welfare, housing and care of the residents and students of Ewuaso Osiligi Center and any other similar Centers which may be added in the future. Income generated by the Fund may also be used to meet unforeseen operating expenses, expand facilities, or otherwise enhance the buildings, grounds, and equipment of the Center(s).

The Endowment Committee has selected an investment advisement firm to provide professional guidance regarding the investment of Endowment funds, with an eye toward maximizing returns while maintaining prudent fiscal guidelines to protect the principal. The Committee will make distributions from net investment earnings and returns. The first distribution will not take place until the Endowment holds a minimum of $1 million. 

Our goal is to continue building the principal of the Endowment to at least $3 million. Towards that effort, the KSOH board will direct a portion of the proceeds from our 2024 Fall Fundraising Campaign to the Endowment. Due to generous donations, the Endowment is already over halfway to the distribution threshold of $1 million!

Relying on God’s continued providence, we pray the Endowment will underpin the future of the Ewuaso Osiligi Center and sustain the mission and vision of Kenyan Schools of Hope for many years to come.
